Our clinical team

Rounds are covered by a team of physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, led by Raj Desai, MD — double board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and in interventional pain medicine, and founder of the outpatient interventional practice Performance Sports and Spine.

Most of the residents we see have been in pain long enough that someone has stopped asking about it. The work is unglamorous: examine the patient, find out what actually limits them, write it down clearly, and tell the nurse and the therapist what changed. Every clinician on the team works to the same standard and to the same documentation expectations. Coverage should make a building's own team better informed, not add another consultant to chase.
